This Project consists of the re-use of an abandonned pier in the city of Dunkerque, France. We decided to recreate a different center for the city including Art center, student housing, retail and craftmanship retal from the region. Part of the industrial identity of the pier is reused and incorporated to the new complex. The tallest buildings are kept in the center of the site to leave smaller scale building approaching the waterfront.
We decided to incorporate public equipement to follow the same logic of un-centering the city with cinema, public plazas. Bew connexions with the old city is made by adding a new footbridge.
